  First Visit - Your Consultation

On your first visit you will have a detailed consultation with Dr. Lee, who will ask you about your medical history and symptoms. Her questions will be very extensive, including lifestyle, diet, eating habits, etc. Some of the questions may bear on your infertility. Then Dr. Lee will look at your tongue and check your pulse by which she is able to tell the state of your health. Once Dr. Lee is done with the collection of requisite information, she will make an analysis of your symptoms to determine the root cause of your infertility based on the theories of traditional Chinese medicine. During the consultation she will explain to you what needs to be done to address your infertility and provide answers to your questions as best she can. As causes of infertility vary from person to person, treatment plans for patients differ. She will discuss with you your special needs and the treatment plan for you. The consultation normally takes 30 to 60 minutes.
Fee: $140.00

Treatment Methods

Acupuncture: Disposable needles are used. depending on each patient’s condition, different numbers of needles and points are used. Needles remain on the body's surface for 30 - 40 minutes. Meditation is helpful during acupuncture treatment.
Fee: $90.00

Herbal Medicine (Pills or Raw Herbs):
Pills - made with regular formulas by manufacturers.
Fee: $12.00 / bottle for two weeks

It is highly recommended that raw herbs be used in your treatment. Though you have to cook them and the tea so made tastes slightly bitter, drinking herbal tea is more effective than taking pills, because the herbal formula is customized in accordance with each patient’s own needs. The formula can be adjusted whenever such a need arises during the entire period of treatment. The use of herbs is particularly effective in preventing miscarriages. Usually for each herbal prescription you get six packs of raw herbs, good for one week.
Fee: $40.00 for prescription, $10 for each pack of herbs
Total: $100.00 per week

Massage Therapy: It will be provided under request or the necessity of the patient’s condition.
Fee: $30.00 for first 15 minutes, $10.00 for every 10 minutes

Moxibustion: It is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing.
Fee: $10.00

Treatment Plans

  • General Plan: For patients who may possibly get pregnant naturally, both Acupuncture and herbs are suggested.
    Acupuncture: 1 - 2 visits per week
    Herbs: 6 packs per week

  • IVF Plan:
    1. Take the treatment outlined in the general plan 2 - 3 months before IVF for preparation.
    2. Once the IVF is initiated, the patient is advised to continue with acupuncture and herbal medicine as outlined in the general plan. Most patients suffer side effects from the drugs used in IVF. The combined use of acupuncture and herbal medicine helps offset the side effects of drugs and tide you over until the whole process is completed. However, the patient should go for acupuncture only if she lacks knowledge of an herbal program. For acupuncture, 2- 3 visits per week are recommended.

  • Plan for Sustained Conception and Preventing Miscarriage:
Conception care is very important. Causes of failure of conception vary from case to case. Any action or symptom that causes uterine contraction leads to bleeding or pre-miscarriage. Therefore, Dr. Lee stresses once again the need to take Chinese herbs. Herbal medicine will surely and effectively help you go through the first three months. It can also help relieve your morning sickness. The patient will also receive from Dr. Lee suggestions and instructions on how to prevent miscarriage.
    1. Herbal tea: everyday for 2 - 3 months
    2. Acupuncture: once a week
